Workshop & Lecture // Summer School @CRITICAL CONCRETE – Porto (PT)

We are glad to invite you to join the Critical Concrete summer school programme.
The open call for early birds is now open, until March 4th, 2018.

Together with other contributors, Maurizio Montalti, founder of Officina Corpuscoli and co-founder of MOGU, will lead part of the programme, aiming to introduce participants to techniques for growing mycelium-based materials out of low value residual biomass, as alternative to traditional insulation materials.

Critical Concrete reflects on a paradigmatic shift in the role of architect in today’s society. Rather than contributing to autonomous building-making that often disregard the context of the architectural intervention, it promotes a position of a citizen with expertise, who acts from within the community.

During the third edition of the intensive 3 weeks summer school, participants will refurbish an affordable housing configuration and work on heating and insulation prototypes.

More information about the summer school can be found here.
